You may have a wound that you are perfectly capable of managing yourself, but sometimes a wound needs professional management form a Doctor or Nurse. These wounds include leg ulcers, lacerations, skin tears and any wound that is not healing properly.

We have additionally the services of a dietitian and a diabetes nurse specialist who visit our practice weekly. Appointments are available at reception or patients can call the clinic to make an appointment.

Prevention is generally better than the cure so we recommend discussing your travel plans with us well in advance of your departure date. Your Doctor can suggest preventative measures such as getting travel vaccinations, mosquito avoidance measures and reducing the risk of drinking / eating contaminated fluids / food.

We offer a wide range of services for skin disorders including skin cancer, acne, dermatitis and troublesome spots and rashes.

Spirometry is a type of pulmonary function test that measures the amount of air taken in (volume) and exhaled as a function of time.

Spirometry gives health care professionals important measurements that may indicate problems with lung function.

Outpatients Department 

There are many conditions that we are equipped to treat.

Do you require a wound dressed, INR, iron infusion, child immunised or an injured worker attended to, please make an appointment with our receptionists. After having a procedure please remember to speak with our receptionists to book a time slot to return to have your stitches removes. By helping us with these requests it will help relieve congestion in outpatients and cut down on your waiting time.

Appointments – Online appointments are now available. Urgent cases can be seen on the day by phoning the clinic. Please notify us if you are unable to attend an appointment in advance. Time is valuable to all of us. If you fail to attend appointments without warning or explanation this practice may not be able to offer you booked appointments in the future and a fee may also be incurred.

Interpreter service – an interpreter can be arranged for you with adequate notice. Please indicate this to staff when booking your appointment.

Referrals – Doctors in this practice are competent at handling common health problems. When necessary, they can use opinions from Specialists. You can discuss thin openly with your doctor in consultation.

Reminder system – Because our practice is committed to preventive care, we may send you an occasional reminder or SMS regarding your health services appropriate to your care. If you wish to opt out of this, please let us know.

Accounts – Billing is expected at the time of consultation and can be made by cash, mastercard/visa and eftpos. We direct bill Veteran’s Affairs cardholders. The AMA fee forms the structure of our billing policy. An account is raised for all visits to the clinic whether it is in Outpatients with a nurse or your doctor.

Corporate Payments - The Lismore Clinic accepts Corporate Payments for Workers Compensation Claims, Pre-Employment Medicals and Workplace Vaccinations etc. by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Please note that as of 1 January 2018 we will no longer accept payments by cheque.
