Palliative Care

Dr Brian Witt has a specific interest in palliative care for patients with life limiting illness.  He is committed to supporting patients to have dignity and control over their end of life symptoms. 

The goals of palliative care are to minimise symptoms, maximise function, maintain quality of life and provide comfort in the final stages of life. 

GPs usually work with a multidisplinary team which includes palliative care nurses and at times the palliative care consultants at the Lismore Base Hospital to support the choices of the patient and their family.
